Dear Member,

This year’s Family Week is coming up fast and HBFW Committee would like to invite you, your family and friends to join us.

The entry form is here in excel, Libra Office or PDF for you to complete (grey sections only in excel or Libra Office) once filled in save and email to both Sandra Hockley & Teresa Henderson, if payment is by cheque please also take a copy of the form and send it and the payment to Sandra Hockley.

Please note this year we have a late payment fee of 10% if the payment & form is not received by 25th June 2018, also we have a limit on how many people we will accept and places will be taken on a first come first serve basis and club boats will be taken on a cadet before adult, first come first serve basis.  So make sure you return your completed form ASAP noting how you are paying (payments by electronic transfer is preferred).

There is no specialise theme but the club will be set up for a party atmosphere and as usual the Family Week will start with both registration & boat allocation (for those borrowing a club boat) on Sunday 22nd July from 15:30, then at 18:45 the welcome briefing and Cheese & Wine Reception, due to the tides there will be water at 19:30, so we may postponing the Ice-breaker quiz by Ray Revell until 21:00 so those who want to sail can.

Please note all members both adult & cadet in your party will also be required at registration to place their names down for 4 duties over the week, which can be chosen which days you do but one must be a cleaning duty,

We will have racing for the serious sailors (main fleet), novices (short course) and cadets, fun and games for all ages, including an afternoon of field games, a sports day, the annual mud run with balloon popping and both an adult bike ride and separate safe cadet’s bike ride.   On the Wednesday we have the Hog Roast with live band “Mega Sea Noise” and on Thursday it is a BYO “Bring your Own” BBQ and the clubs barbeque will be lit for your use, also on Thursday the bar will be having a ‘Happy Hour’ and we are hoping to have a ‘HB Has Talent Night’ so if you can sing, play an instrument or some other talent please come and show it off to us, we will close the week on Friday with our gala presentation night and live entertainment.

For Regatta week new comers you can camp on site and take advantage of only being a short crawl from the bar and facilities.   Please ensure when filling out your entry form you clearly mark if you will be in a tent, caravan or a motorhome and if you require an electric hook up as this will cost a little more and you will need a commando lead.   Also you will be expected to help out with duties or if you want to get more involved in the weeks activities please feel free to either speak or email to one of the committee members.

The committee is looking forward to welcoming you to HBSC Family Week.

Yours Sincerely,

Harlow Blackwater Family Week Committee.

The Committee is Clive & Tracey Tarling, Ray Revell, Barry & Lydia Knights, Teresa & Ian Henderson, Lewis Bell, Ron Suffield, Laura Davison, Marjie Islin & Sylvie Batt.
